New independent lab test results on coronavirus for the Hand Spray

As our brand has a presence in Hong Kong and China, when the coronavirus threat became public in mid January 2020, we requested an independent laboratory test our Hand Spray (same as the Mist Spray in Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender scent) against coronavirus.  The test itself takes 2 months to complete, most of that time being the culture of the specific virus to be tested.

To test the impact our Hand Spray/Mist Spray has on the coronavirus (a category of viruses including both SARS and COVID-19) the laboratory used the specific coronavirus murine hepatitis virus (MHV) to undertake the test.  This is a coronavirus that affects animals and causes similar symptoms to the one currently affecting humans, COVID-19.

The results have just been received and confirmed that our Hand Spray/Mist Spray in Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender scent does meet the standard 'kills 99.99% of the virus'.  With a log reduction of 4.16, this means that if you have 10,000 molecules of the virus to start, less than 1 will be left after spraying the Hand Spray/Mist Spray.

If we could get hold of the actual COVID-19 to test the efficacy of our products on it, we would. As such, we cannot and do not make the claim that the Hand Spray or indeed any of our products can kills COVID-19. However with this new testing we can say that our Hand Spray/Mist Spray does meet the standard 'kills 99.99% of coronavirus MHV', as well as kills 99.99% bacteria (ecoli and staph)and influenza (H1N1/influenza A) which was verified in prior testing.
